Lily is a NEW iPad magazine that’s great for creative girls aged 5-10. It has all the quizzes, stories and reader pages of a magazine, but with the fun of a gaming app. Lily encourages girls to make art, animations and stories with their friends. And the best entries get published in the next issue of Lily!
Photostories and book extracts are an important part of Lily. Listen-as-you-read stories are fun for confident readers and great for children learning to read, whether English is their first or second language.
Lily encourages girls to be creative with a mix of activities to do on and off the iPad screen. In the first issue, readers can make a doll-size version of Kate Middleton’s wedding dress, and colour and design a magazine front cover.
Lily was created and developed by BBC children’s magazine editor Claire Comins. Lily supports learning in the classroom, particularly literacy, art and IT. Issue 1 does not contain any advertising or links to external websites.
