Actress Claire Danes speaks to GQ Magazine – “I should have lightened up!”

Actress Claire Danes (33 years), starring the successful TV series “Homeland” was supposed to play with Leonardo DiCaprio in “Titanic” (1997), but the role went to Kate Winslet British. The blonde told the magazine that took a bad decision when she refused film in 1996:

“I had just made a romantic epic with Leonardo DiCaprio – it just seemed redundant to me. The problem is that I always took myself too seriously. Now I realize I should have lightened up. I was a serious kid to an absurd degree. I was overwhelmed with responsibility, trying to play grown up. I overdid it”

The role of CIA agent Carrie Mathison, from the series “Homeland” on the Showtime channel, brought her both a Golden Globe trophy and an Emmy nomination in 2012. Claire Danes is perceiving Carrie Mathison as a superhero who fights crime and who is always right, even if the movie hero has moments when she behaves strangely because of disease she sufferers:

“She’s like my kinky superhero alter ego now. Because as disturbed and troubled as she is, she’s always fucking right. Which is so nice because I so rarely am. To be honest I never expected the show to get picked up so I wasn’t sure what it was going to be like, but it’s fun. It’s like «Oh, there she is again!» I like her a lot”

Claire Danes posed for the cover of GQ magazine wearing a long white dress signed by Ralph Lauren, and did not leave the impression that she was pregnant at all, although in early July announced that she is expecting her first child with her husband Hugh Dancy.
