Although the bulk of magazines in the future will only be offered in digital versions, there are those who are still planning the release of print titles. Namely two financial service providers, Bloomberg and Thomson Reuters. The catch? These upcoming print magazines are exclusive. “Bloomberg Pursuits” will be distributed only to households that make $450,000 or more per year. “Reuters” has planned a small, exclusive publication of 11,000 copies to be distributed to attendees of the World Economic Forum. “Reuters” plans to be mostly ad free while “Bloomberg Pursuits” plans to include 29 pages of ads that are as exclusive as those households it will be sent to; Cartier, Chanel, Porsche, etc. Earnings figures have shown that magazines for the luxury sector are still doing well and are actually growing in some cases.
